i9 14900k/ i7 14700k on DDR4?

Hi

I know that the 13th/14th gen does support DDR4 (ram choice locked in with motherboard) but I was wondering if there would be software/compatibility issues due to that choice. (Also I don't trust lower end DDR4 board VRM's with any i9, much less a 14900k.)

Only reason why I consider a DDR4 board is to save money on the ram. (Newegg has a deal with one board having a free 32GB kit with it)

No, there's no software compatibility considerations between DDR4 and DDR5, it's purely a bandwidth difference.
