So I ran rivatuner( unsure how to upload screenshots )
I’m actually getting better FPS by applying the ASUS 5.0 ghz profile on my MOBO I reset all my 3-D settings in the nvidia control panel (noticed some improvement)
In ACO- I’m getting between 75-90 FPS depending on the environment
Witcher 3- 120 FPS
Just cause 3- 75-85 FPS
Overwatch -110 FPS
I think it’s running better after changing the 3-D settings IMO
Haven’t played fc5 in a few months so no longer on desktop, I could run the osd on a few of my other games ill have to check later
I still play:
The Witcher 3
Just cause 3
( I’ll post results when I can)
I’ll go under the impression I’m doing something wrong with my settings
In ACO I know I’m gpu bound running usually between 94-96% use
I haven’t ran much benchmark tests aside from the in game ones like Odysseys and FC5 and in both scenarios I would not hit above 90 for very long staying in the 65-75 range with base stats and Overclocked. Currently running on all defaults but I will Run a OSD for all the games I still currently play and update this thread after.
Sure I will do it in a few hours when I’m out of work
The only game I ever run anything on the background is over watch it can handle YouTube and a few pages open but any other game such as the Witcher far cry etc it’s just the game open
When I tried reading my bios that’s what it initially told me , my motherboard has an ez overclocking function that I only turned on a day ago but as of right now it te saying my cpu voltage is 1.28 v I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or reading the wrong thing
My computer bios says it’s cpu frequency is .72
That’s a whole foreign world to me so it’s running as it was when I put it together
But when there’s a lot going on the background of the game such as explosions the frame rate drops to mid 20s lower 30s
Sorry should have specified it’s far cry 5 and I play on the aoc 144hz monitor
yes its my current build ill post pics of the end result
Well best case scenario I’ll have keep one psu as my back up just in case (knowing my luck)
correct that i wont be running too much in the background but i could lets say have youtube open and run a game and not have my computer slow by much?
in your own personal opinion is amd any better than intel? never used it on anything and id hate to miss out on something just because i dont know about it (it being amd)
sorry ignore the bottom mobo i didnt see it on there and i plan on getting a new monitor later on
i think my last comment was deleted but newegg had a combo deal for a case ,psu, and mobo inlcuded in this list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NWfqcc and i went ahead with a gtx 1070 as well i think this came out rather well would i be fine to run everything like i wanted?
i kinda decided to go all out and go past my budget and change a bit up and and may be going for this instead with the gtx 1070 as well (had a friend make some recommendations but im kind of torn between this mother boards since its part of a combo deal that includes the case and the psu https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gdkwrH/msi-x299-sli-plus-atx-lga2066-motherboard-x299-sli-plus
also i keep getting mixed reviews toward amd and intel cpus which changes everything since i cant swap out cpu's on any motherboard any opinons toward the two? also i glossed over the cpu liquid cooler i can swap those out between boards right? im aware i need to reapply thermal paste to regular cpu coolers wasnt sure about water cooled
for the gpu i was thinking dual fan for the ventilation but i have never had a single fan gpu so idk how it would perform, also as an aesthetic choice i wanted a gpu where i can change the rgb considering i want to decorate the inside of the case and make it kind of flashy
my resolution for my monior is 2560x1080 it is a lg ultra wide monitor
refresh rate is 60 hertz
so im just about set to order everything i need so to triple check when im all set up and ready to go i should be able to play those kind of games in my description no problem? dont want something too expensive just better than i currently have
thank you for the quick response and i will most likely go with your parts for the build i just want to run some things by you and if you could answer them it would be great.!
1)is it possible to reuse the ssd i have on my current build(128gb samsung ssd) i had a 1 tb attached as well but it died last month so i was just going to reuse the ssd if possible( i dont care if i have to wipe it i have nothing important on it
2) if i decided to upgrade the gpu from the 1060 to lets say the gtx 1070 ftw or the gtx 1080 ti would i run into any compatibilty issues or is it a plug in and go kinda situation?
3)as for the xfx psu i didnt know i had some unheard of psu its ran fine for me for about 2 years till today so im kinda on the fence about it but ill go for the most experienced opinion
I appreciate the parts you posted I was kinda set on the case because of the usb and the tempered glass I was going for showy for sure , as for the gpu and motherboard I need something that I can do an rgb fan and run games like the Witcher on high to ultra graphics and the motherboard be able to support at the very least a light strip So I can decorate the case hence why I wanted to go showy , it’s not 100% a budget build but I’m willing to pay a bit more for some good parts
