1600 makes more sense
did you have any luck overclocking the cpu?
With decent airflow in the case and stock cooler you can probably push it close to 4ghz. Though it looks like to get there the voltage has to jump close to 1.5v.
I am going to bet you can scale back closer to 3.8ghz - 3.9ghz and be in the 1.3 - 1.375v range.
I know with my 2600 i didn't want to push much past 1.435v with the stock cooler, I have good air flow.
Kind of what I was thinking just wanted a little confirmation on not really needing to replace it just yet.
Spend 25$ + my time, and keep using it, hopefully a year or two or more. This keeps the wife happy and keeps my current build cost low/in budget.
Just the other day I saw the xfx 570- 4/8's in the 139.00 range after rebate is why I mentioned them.
nice work! I agree with you on the processor.. I went with the same with it on sale.. I would like to hear more about your fps/benchmarks as I still haven't pulled the trigger to upgrade from my 7850. This will probably get featured for sure..
Smart build with upgrade path.. It will be great when you slap a video card in and another 8gb of ram.
I am still running my old 7850 until i get a new card (runs most games well enough) even though 1 fan is busted. Nice build!
This is correct, it goes into a standby state to save power. You "can" use the Ryzen Master util to clock the processor how ever you wish but you need to have adequate cooling. I would not do this in a normal usage case as your basically wasting power draw. The exception would be if you were measuring performance (ie.. benchmarks etc..)
Nice build. Mine is close to this but I couldn't get the White Meshify C. I still haven't done my video card yet!. same CPU/Mobo :D
I ran mine at 4ghz with the stock cooler, used ryzen master util - moved all cores to 4 but my voltage was 1.425.
I only ran it long enough to test a few benchmarks but I was still in spec for temp staying under the 95C limit amd shows. your results may vary with your air flow/case/fans etc..
huge difference with my case and yours.. that case comes with 1 120mm fan in the rear.. did you install any others?
your cpu cooler is way better than my stock but if it's not getting cool air to it - its going to heat soak... so you might have to leave the case open and get some air to it (not ideal if you plan on keeping it OC'd
Should be able to, I ran my 2600 on stock cooler at 4ghz, temps went up under load for benchmarks etc but with in spec. This cooler is much better than stock. As long as the case fans are done right it should be stable. They say on amd site "Max Temps
95°C" I peaked at around 80C with - 2 140MM - IN, and 2 OUT (1 top, 1 rear).
Yeah it was a bummer as I used my Amex points on Amazon to get it for like 70.00 usd. I love the corsair :D but really like the TG-White...
Nice build. I love that case and actually ordered the white version but it was bent (i think in the warehouse/pallet) as the box was not punctured.. I had to settle for the Corsair 400C.
I haven't posted my recent build as the last shipment is arriving today.. but for my price point the Ryzen 5 2600 fell into budget and seemed to be good even without OC it. Down side is no onboard video but ill use my old card for now..
Although the intel 8600k is very nice overall but didn't sit well for the cost in my build.
Wow.. just wow!
What mouse + Pad is that?
Cable Management +++ Very clean! Nice build sir!
ok awesome! I haven't been able to join one (live) . what time zone and when is the usual broadcast time?
I am at work but have headphone etc.. on EST.
Right now 1920x1028, but we may eventually go up as prices fall over time for displays (under 150.00). But we would or will still use 2 monitors min. Eventually 3. Which I agree the 1050ti can work in this range.
thanks for your help .. yes ssd would be nice for os/apps/suite and some larger storage for each. I was leaning toward the 1050 ti as well.
Color options are a plus.. as I am more white/black etc.. others like orange etc.. so that is a nice touch..
