wasn't so sure about the color scheme when looking at the partslist, but it turned out quite well imo.

kind of gives me a mirror's edge vibe

sorry for responding so late, but yes, I had to raise it very slightly; so little it's not even noticeable when looking at it, and yes, it clears the side panel with about an inch to spare.

that's beautiful, and so minimalist

quite the first build. In the future, white sleeved cable extensions would make the build "pop" even more.

correct me if I'm incorrect, but isn't the 3820/3930k/3960x much more powerful than the 7600k?

seems as if an upgrade would really be more of a downgrade tbh.

but why not Ryzen? 8 cores and 16 threads for less than the 6850k, and would probably be better for running VMs.

regardless, beautiful build, that Taichi is stunning

It's been great. No problems, and keeps my 5820k nice and cool at 4.5 ghz (1.31 volts), while staying super quiet. Haven't noticed any bending of the motherboard, rock solid.

If you'd held out until RyZen, there might have been a cheap CPU in your price range that would best the 8350, or a pricedrop on Intel's stuff that made it more competitive.

  1. Yes, a 6850k would be perfect if you're using a lot of PCI-e devices that take up lanes (SSDs, GPUs, etc).

  2. I'm actually using the built in wifi on this board atm, and it's fantastic. If you can find a board with it built in, that's perfect, although wifi cards are cheap as well.

hope this helps
