Yup, this is exactly what I did. I lurked for the longest, read forums posts, etc. Only that that really made me join was saving part lists and I wanted to leave a comment on a thread.

Yea I just think the odds were in favor of a Z170 build getting picked if thats what the majority went with.

A couple of folks were lucky enough to win, the rest of us wasnt. Its just the odds ppl. No big conspiracy, lol.

It would seem this way but the winners were supposed to be drawn at random. Maybe those of us that went with X99 were in the minority. Probably extreme minority.

Technically they did use it at least once to put the build together, lol.

I feel you tho.

Yea man its too late now.

I mean when it said up to $2500 who wouldnt try to get as close to that ? lol. Some even said they picked 2 video cards to sell one later. Everyone should have went all out on their builds.

Especially since its a random drawing.

I think you do have to have storage. There are parts that are invalid so I assume the ones listed would be valid.

To be safe I would just pick at least one from every part they have listed they say to pick.

I picked two for storage and two video cards. Might as well post my list since most have:

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/jroc74/saved/xb7YJx

It was 2498 when I submitted it.

Thanks for posting this. I thought I was entered but I wasnt. I didnt let that woobox app have access to my Twitter, I just manually followed what I was supposed to.

You have to let that woobox app have permission for it to count.

Good thing is I changed my list a few times since the non entry so what I have now is exactly what I wanted.

Barry made a good point about the bigger case means you have options to add components in the future if you want to.

i7, bigger case...his build is just more future proof IMO.

And lol after clicking on the Doritos link. And its a part in someone else's build....amazing.

I also love their cases. I havent built a PC yet, plan on building my first one soon. Money wise I probably wont pick their case but when funds and job situation gets better I do want a Fractal case for future builds. Or just upgrading the case from my first build.

I dont have much to add thats already been said.

Filters and features.

Like for me I start with 4 ram slots. And just go from there. Maybe you want HDMI or wifi on board, maybe it doesnt matter, etc. Overclock mobo or non OC, or it doesnt matter, etc.

The compatibility filter helps alot too.

You picked a micro tower case so any ATX mobo wont be available due to compatibility filter. I sort by price and start with the cheapest option and work my way down.

Just use the filters: video card - 2GB or 4GB of memory or it doesnt matter, etc

I am about to build me first PC and I think I finally settled on a good on at a decent price.
