Looks like my only option would be to pay $70 for a set from cablemods, or to find someone who makes them? I was hoping to pay more in the $30-40 range since I really only need the GPU, CPU, and 24 pin.

looking good! how did you get the frosting on the window? I've been wanting to do something similar on an acrylic window but I'm afraid to ruin it with a spray can or the like.

how are the temps in this case? I've been watching for a good deal on a microATX case to switch my build to, but most of them are too expensive to justify switching from my S340. I like the style of this case other than the lack of PSU shroud.

We have several old school cable companies around my area In the US that won't update their crummy infrastructure and this is MY DREAM. I've been practically begging our only fiber provider to run to our neighborhood but there just isn't enough demand.

I'm no expert, but you might look into lowering the voltage on your CPU, 1.5v at 4.0ghz seems high. I think I was able to get mine to be stable at 3.9-4.0ghz @ 1.37v.

Otherwise, cable management looks good. Congrats on your first build, it should serve you well for many years to come.

I'm looking at getting 32gb of ram for my build, and saw the kit you used has a good price at the moment. Did you have any trouble getting it to run at 3000mhz? Any stability issues? It's not on the QVL for my motherboard.

Great! Thank you. I'm shooting for 60-80 as I have a 75hz freesync monitor. My g4560 has been able to do this in most games but poorly optimized titles like Early-pubg and fallout 76 have given me issues. Fallout I'm having to run at low to medium preset and the draw distance is really bad.

How's gaming performance with that processor and GPU combo? I'm buying a 2600/2700/1700 to replace my Pentium. Based on what I've seen these processors combined with an rx570/580 are good for about 60-90 frames in most games at ultra or very high?

Also, how is your editing and production performance? You have basically the same use case as I do with the gaming, editing, and music production, so I appreciate any insight you might have.

I'd like to know this as well. I just purchased a MOBO to switch from my Pentium g4560 to Ryzen. Looking at getting the 2600. The g4560 ran emulators ok, so I'd be curious to see what a difference I might be seeing in this regard.

Nice build!

Question on this motherboard: I currently have an ATX Intel Board, long story short my upgrade path has been screwed up and I'm now looking at AMD. This is the board I was looking at, and I'm wondering if 2 of the USB's on the Mobo take up (or eliminate) the "Front" USB connector or are they all available for use in addition to any Front USB's I may have?

My question stems from the spec sheet on MSI's site, which lists a total of 6 "rear" USB ports and two "front". It looks like there are two usb connectors on the board for a case but thought I would ask, as it seems like the spec sheet is just wrong. The equivalent ATX board in my price range only has a total of 6 on the rear and the two extra would be helpful for me as I have a lot of peripherals connected at any given time.

Sweet, thank you for the insight. I'm mainly playing GPU bound games or less demanding games like Deep Rock Galactic, WOW, etc. I just started playing a turn based strategy, Total War, yesterday and noticed it's really putting my Pentium to task. I'm really hoping to upgrade to an unlocked I5 or I7 soon but wanted some real life insight as to what kind of performance I could expect.

thank you, I stayed up way too late last night throwing it together but I enjoyed it.

The cable management is still bothering me but I, 1. Didn't want to go too crazy on it before he adds his extra HDD, etc., 2. Keep reminding myself that I didn't have much to work with cable mgmt.-wise in the first place.

I'm with you there. I've been eyeing the hue+ ever since I started looking at building a PC.

Just recently I had an amazon gift card from my birthday so I bought it. I got it on sale for 45ish, I haven't had a lot of time to use it so far but I like it. It doesn't look as good as I expected but that's partially because my case has a plexi/plastic window.

I bought it knowing I would play with it for a few days and then set it to one or two colors and leave it. I'm happy with it and it looks good with solid blue or white in my case.

The only problem I've had is that it has caused the software for my Corsair mouse to not work. I'm having to change my play style in overwatch as I can't use any of the side buttons on my mouse anymore. This is the only conflict that the CAM software for the HUE+ causes as far as I've read or seen. I'm not super worried about this as I am replacing that mouse anyhow and don't plan on getting any other corsair products as of right now.

I have a brown MSI board as well. You eventually don't pay attention to it.

This is the kind of budget build I should have done. But I splurged on a few items I knew would allow me to upgrade later. This left me with cruddy peripherals but I'm getting some new ones in the next month or two.

Have you had any problems with the SED SSD? I had an m.2 form factor one laying around. considering using it in my build but can't find a lot of info regarding whether it's a good idea or not.

The encryption would be nice since it will likely be our home office PC as well. Our old one died. :-( I'm just wondering if performance is much different.
