Get the i3 if you are planning to play games that are older / specifically designed for PC (IE biosock infinite, sniper elite). Get the fx 6300 if you want to play console ports (IE farcry 4, advanced warfare)
Will do. Right now it looks like a spaghetti monster is attacking my case. I actually ran out of zipties when I built this and I haven't played around with the cable management since. May upgrade to a modular PSU soon. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Its actually from an old server computer. Its really reliable and its at 750 watts. I spray painted it because it had a metallic color that stood out way to much in my case. May get a new one but for now it is looking great. Thanks for the suggestion :)
I sent you a steam freind request. IU am building a similar P.C nice build.
How does the cpu work for web programs? I am building a very similar computer for web development and gaming.
Haterz gonna hate. Nice build
LOL nice build thought +1
How well does the 780ti handle 1440p?
Get a better graphics card is my sugestion
WHY IS THIS WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS?
Darn I wish I could get a computer like that for free :D
wow a $0 computer!!!
It looks lonely in that case.
medium to high settings on BF$ I thought u could play on ultra with the r9 270x at 45fps?
Epic a super computer in a mATX form factor. +1 from me!
I was running dual xeons and I had some issues (when I tried to run some programs it gave me a processor not supported error). Mabey because I was running windows vista.
I mean lower than you expected fps on games? I was just wondering because the xeon is more of a server / workstation processes not a gaming processor. +
Just out of curiosity do you ever get driver issues on games with the xeon? Nice build +1 from me
Man Pentiums are really getting popular.
I just ordered the parts for a very similar build : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YcrP8d I think it is good; the only thing I can is maybe get that card on eBay? You can get redicoulious prices on r9 280 / 280xs on eBay. Good luck :)
I would go with 2133mhz or greater RAM
+ 1 from me for not spending $100 on the case for a $315 build
Because the title said "underwater" I thought it was going to be a $4,000 oil cooled P.C but it is cool anyway :D
I would have went with a r9 270 so you can crossfire it later but like I said earlier nice build
But it is under warranty for another 9 months and their is a 14 day return policy on it. But that 2 months of mining does worry me too.
It is a 4K monitor!!!!
Here is one, too bad I already overbudjet on my rig :( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Video-Card-MSI-Radeon-R9-280x-TWIN-FROZR-GAMING-Crossfire-/251616547925?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3a9583d455
Great build!!! Hows that mobo? I just ordered it in the mail? +1 from me a killer gaming p.c. for less than an IPhone and $20 more than an xbone
I am upgrading from a laptop with intel graphics 3000 that get 9-10 fps on low on minecraft : this is going to be awesome, cant wait! :D
I plan on maybe playing some skyrim. (I am waiting on a few component s in the mail) What fps do you get?
Most importantly it runs TF2 great (: Also check out my build, it's very similar http://pcpartpicker.com/p/m3P7sY
Graphics card buddies :)
I thought it was a good case... Maybe it's because I have a $25 raidmax case.
What do you use for screen recording?
Amd colors and an Intel cpu? What is this? JK
I am doing a very similar build (: Keep up the good work!
I am a .Net developer too running on a $400 i3 Intel graphics 3000 laptop with about a 10 inch screen. LOL
Awesome and keep up the great work :)
Will those with AMD computer be aloud in? Intel is sponsoring it. LOL
Hows the case? Thinking about getting the same one. Nice build by the way.
I wouldn't recommend doing anything like video editing on integrated graphics in your build. However I do think he might have wanted a slightly better possessor such as an i3 or a fx-6300.
Degrading the CPU would save him 30$. However for only 30$ more $s think it would be worth to upgrade the CPU to something that will be fast. I hate slow CPUs too. But thanks for your input.
I'm not really looking for gaming I'm looking for web browsing and video watching speed. This is going to be a computer for my grandparents and I am looking for a cpu to last them while and I would like the graphics good enough for watching web videos. Thanks for your suggestion but I don't think my grandparents are going to be doing too much gaming!
But the mobo I'm looking at for the fx-6300 does come with integrated graphics, my mistake for not putting that in the description.
Sorry about the link, But for a 100$ difference it is pretty similar in performance. However the i5 is a very good processor.
What would you recomend for a micro atx slim case and psu?
the fx - 6300 performs on par with a core i5
i5 with gigabyte geforce gtx 760 or 770. i7 is overkill 90% of the time and i5 will do just as good of a job as an i7 90% of the time. gigabyte 760 / 770 runs games on ultra 1080p @ 60 fps for a very reasonable price.
