A Quadro P4000 is basically a underclocked 1070 with a tiny bit less CUDA cores. a Quadro RTX 4000 is basically a underclocked 2070. for 100$ more, you get GDDR6 (70% more memory bandwidth), almost 30% more CUDA cores, Tensor cores (for those who do tensorflow/machine learning/training, 50% more raw tflops, and a **** ton more FP16 due to unnerfed FP16 (bc nvidia wanted ppl to buy their Tesla cards instead of quadro (on pascal), FP16 performances was divided by 64 by nvidia to make ppl spend more money). Basically you get a quadro P5000 and some extra features for just a little bit more than a P4000. No reason not to, think of it like a 1070 for 400 vs 2070 for 450 (divided prices in half becuase nvidia has a tax on special drivers), no reason to really pick the 1070.

rant over

3700x + decent 240/280/360mm or 140mm tower cooler + OC + decent mobo (should start at around 200-300$) then in the future get Zen 2+

Z390 dark is kinda useless for ambient cooling, whats your CPU OC?

ASUS doesn't have doublers at all, the mobo is a bit overkill, why not Gigabyte with their 12+1 phase vrm? btw, the Z390 dark only has a 14 phase (IIRC) for cpu, 2 for iGPU, and 1 for vmem

Nice to see somebody with HWlabs rads, all the crappy Alphacools and EKWB rads are making me feel sick. Is the 9900k delidded, or just lapped?

Why such and expensive mouse compared to such a cheap keyboard?

Love this build!

yeah, a 150$ Z370 board is basically a 180$ Z390, and 150$ Z370 vs 150$ Z390, the Z370 is better

Its cheaper for the same VRM. The Z370 has a dual 4 phase, Z390 also has the same. However, the Z370 is cheaper, thus better value.

it looks ugly lmao also they tend to be more expensive, and worse upgrade path. Still not terrible, kinda of like using a SFX PSU in a full size build.

Perhaps try pushing the GPU a bit more? got ~2120 core and 2650memclck on my 1070?

nice build btw. Thanks for not going ASUS Z390 (its literally worse than their Z370)

There are M.2 SATA, and NVMe. Both are different. Someone might get suckered in to paying 20$ for a M.2 860 evo when they thought it was NVMe, or someone might see that their laptop has a m.2 slot, and put in a SATA SSD when the M.2 slot was PCIe only.

try running some CUDA software on that UHD 630. Try hooking up 4 monitors to it.

uh, no. I'm a frequent poster on several forums, and the majority say NVMe, or PCIe. you wouldn't refer to a graphics card as a PCIe Expansion card would you? Would you refer to a i7-8700k as a LGA1151 socketed chip?

Had a 8400 with stock cooler, a bit Loud but on AIDA64 only reaches 75-80c, and turbo boosts to the max,3.8ghz. I’d assume the 9400F would perform around the same

if you do, keep in mind that eloops might make a buzzing noise

The “Bionic” rotor that Blacknoise uses will buzz if up against airflow restriction very close to it. Note that Blacknoise is considering making a higher speed version of their 140 mm eLoop fans, so if you are interested then please let them know on their Facebook page.

well thats becuase you have a higher cpu score, if we just look at graphics: 15247 (me) vs 13655 (you) so roughly 10% increase, which in line with the 10% extra freq.

12208, https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/31051177 Thats my 1430 + 2050. I lucked out and got Micron VRAM, instead of the usual bad elpida. Got 4420 in time spy. I'm too lazy to run the 1470mhz OC, but it runs furmark no problem.

Aww, no R9 295x2. That thing was a beast. Titan Z performance for 1/3 the price. 500W TDP, and reached that easily. Are you sure your PSU won't fail? Have a friend with a FX-8350 and a D15, when oced to 5.3, he triggered OCP on his 650W psu, and he only had a 960.

have you OCed your gpu/cpu? I have the same gpu, and can get 1430 core, 2050 mem with stock voltages. I've pushed 1470 core, 2065 mem, with maxed voltage. At that point, its better than a 580!

Love the colors btw!

did you get the tin or the cardboard box with the 8350, and doesn't the black version mean you get an unlocked multiplier? I know its mostly bclck oc and FSB for FX, but a multiplier still helps. What's your OC? have you pushed to ~5.2-5.5? you have a great board, and you could make it there.
