Hahaha I love your title. Very very nice :D
Great job, this build is a beauty. Those Aigo fans are thicc and look fantastic.
Just picked up this motherboard for cheap and I actually have this exact case too! Build incoming. Thanks for the inspiration.
Very clean and balanced build. Well done!
Neat little build, wish I could've seen the inside more.
I wanted to make use of the stock cooler instead of just throwing it out or donating it. The Noctua cooler was used in a separate X58 build of mine so I got some extra value by keeping it for myself. The user who bought the computer was never going to overclock or worry about temps anyway.
Lol yeah if they altered the hard drive cage a bit it would be fixed. I still love this case for the price though.
Depends on your location and used marketplace. The Bay Area is really saturated with $500 computers so I try to set a price below that. Depending on how much driving I had to do for the parts, I usually markup by $50-100 for these really low budget builds.
I had to use a short screwdriver to get the bottom-right screw to go in. It didn't get screwed in perfectly straight (had to screw in at an angle), but the fan is mounted ok. The bottom-left has no screw but doesn't make a huge difference.
I post all of my completed builds to my profile. Just click on my name and navigate to completed builds.
Hmm you're right they were probably 300's. Just saw a bunch of Antec 900-looking cases without windows and assumed they were the same.
Ended up letting it go for $260
Dota 2 and L4D2 all night!
I definitely got lucky with the deal I got on that video card. With that said, there are RX460 OEM's that you can get for around $45 that do the job also!
Lucky indeed. This PC was a combination of a bunch of lucky deals all put into one.
I think i need to be subtracting XD
If you pick up enough used parts on Craigslist like I do, people just start throwing add-on parts at you for cheap. I normally don't buy video cards from Craigslist, but for $10 I was willing to take the risk.
Haha I'm with you...but the guy priced it as "old" so I'm not arguing! Should start getting used to it though, the used pc parts market is going to start flooding with Ryzen stuff.
3570k + GTX 1070 for $500 is actually a pretty good deal. Good luck will sell, especially if it's in an H500.
Hey there! Thanks for the interest but I already found a local buyer for this computer. If you're located in the Bay Area California, hit me up.
I've heard people getting up to 3.7Ghz on the Wraith Stealth! That being said though I was way too cheap to upgrade the cooler anyways. Most of my customers don't even care about OCing.
You did a really good job on this build. I love the format you use and finally, some high quality pictures for once. Thanks for the inspiration and I might have to steal your format.
The prices are a little misleading since you paid tax on all of the new parts from Micro Center and Rakuten. Still a nice little flip though if Microcenter is close.
Get rid of that i7 950 and buy yourself a Xeon X5660 and overclock it if you can. That motherboard has so much more potential if you utilize it correctly.
Pretty cool that you're still getting value out of that CPU. Do your case fans on the side of your case get in the way of your GPU at all?
Ended up letting it go for $300 to a nice dude that drove over an hour to pick it up right after he messaged me about it. Happy he got it :)
I sell locally but it's kinda hit or miss. It's still a lot of fun though.
The included power supply is still kicking? Maybe I should give it a shot after all. Was gonna replace it and add a full size GPU but I could include a low profile instead. Although my house might burn down.
Just picked up this case for free and it's huge for only fitting a mATX motherboard. Still gonna try to make this into a nice HTPC as I love the brushed aluminum. Mine came with the power supply still functioning. Trying to decide if I should just take it out the back and burn it.
Just picked up a used R5 case and love how clean your build is. Gonna have to follow your lead and fill those bays with 64 TB too.
Gotcha. Yeah if we ever get around to playing Monster Hunter World, i'll definitely upgrade the CPU.
Are you referring to the 2500k bottlenecking the RX580? So far it's been crushing the games we've been playing but I can definitely see a 6c/12t upgrade down the line.
The ones that I bought are controllable through a remote. There's the option to purchase fans that can be synced with your motherboard, but mine doesn't have a RGB header. Overall the fans look great and are very quiet. As far as temps go, I haven't seen the the aux temps go above 37c.
Thanks for publishing your story on this post. I've been looking for ideas to update my own i5-760 build and this helps a lot!
