ALSO the storage is quite expensive considering I got 480gb ssd from sandisk for $99.
Insane build, quite similar to mine actually, But my only question is why ruin the build with garbage cable management. I would recommend taking it to a local shop for them to fix that. Other than that it is an great build.
That is so hilarious, because I tried to build a pc with very similar parts but it did not work so i built it two more time. till nothing, so I sent it to the shop and returned my motherboard for another. Part List
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM
MSI Z170A GAMING M3 ATX LGA1151
Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666
Sandisk Ultra II 480GB 2.5" SSD
Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
NZXT S340 (Black/Blue) ATX Mid Tower
EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX
Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition (2-Pack) 62.7 CFM 120mm
it was a joke. lol
Thank a lot!
May I ask, does the fan on your build have three fans in it? Great build!
Your build are so sexy.
It may not look to pleasing but it is a great build. Nice Job! ;D
Why take a small part of my argument which is true, considering 90% of the people on this site have not heard of the brand. You guys are trying to be optimistic for no reason when you agree with my other points.
but why buy it now Cam. THERE IS NO POINT
I personally would have not went with your monitor for gaming, if you had not been informed yet Hz is the tear of the screen and fps. I would have went for the Acer 24" monitor with 144Hz. The computer is good though.
First off why did you get 32GB of RAM, that wasted $78. Next why water-cool the i3 6100 with a $60 dollar cooler when you do not really need much of a cooler at all. I would have gone for the H55 if you really wanted to water cool for $40. Another waste of $20. Thirdly yo should get a 1TB HHD for $48. Next yo should have spent the $50 dollars saved and an extra $30 for an MSI gtx 1060 6GB GPU. I have no idea why you went with an off brand PSU either, since you could have got a more quality on for a few more dollars. Lastly, GREEN and RED don't mix well together unless you made a Christmas build for some reason. I am simply being a critic, take this as advice and constructive criticism, Thanks ;D
I know, Also why would he not just get the Corsair H55 instead.
Nah, he'll keep the electricity on in New York!
Great build, not really anything to complain about except the power supply is a little much but there is nothing wrong with it. Seriously one of the best builds I've seen.
Can we stop this between us. I realize what I said was wrong to other builds. But seriously dude, let's just be cool. OK.
With the cooler I recommended, you will be able for a 4.3, 4.4, maybe up to a 4.5 overclock.
I guess you could go with the Corsair H100i v2. Personally I would take the NZXT Kraken X61 since it had better ratings, had an LED, and is overall just a faster and better cooler.
Excellent build, and I might have to take the idea of the theme.
Great build, just upgrade your cooler soon. The rest is good!
If you want to swap the cooler try to go with a more quality one such as the corsair H60. Also the swap would be great if you want the 6700k.
watch this for a tutorial.
Yes you can change i a i7 6700k
Do you think I should add atleast 1 TB HHD.
Well, thanks for the support I just wated to give some constructed criticism. Also it is just opinions.
Wow, I applaud. Can not complain. I am building an extremely similar build in the January. I have no idea how we have such similar builds. Down below are my parts.
Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Asus MAXIMUS VIII RANGER ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Avexir Core Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Asus GeForce GTX 1070 8GB
Kingston Savage 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Inwin 303 Black ATX Mid Tower Case
EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit
Thermaltake Riing 12 RGB 48.8 CFM 120mm Fans
probably 1080p for the fps
I don't see how this is future proof other than the 1080. Also it is a very weak build for $1800. would have chose an ATX case like the INWIN 303 Black case which I will be using soon. Also a downgrade to a 1070 and two 480 GB Kingston Hyper X s SSDs. The Motherboard is lacking extremely for such a expensive build. Maybe go with the ASUS Maximus XIII. Also make it red not that ugly blue. Not much positive on the build but this will run anything just fine.
Just curious why you think looking at the exterior of the build (or the looks) are more important than the interior. Also say something about the build like "that product was a good choice" or "why did you choose this".
Okay, I was just curious why someone would not splurge an extra $70 for the GeForce GTX 1070 but now I understand. Also I guess if you have the money for the storage use it. But my choice of storage for a red build would have been Kingston's Hyper X series dual 480 GB SSDs. Also why the 1000 watt processing unit.
Why do you even comment.
For a $2000 dollar build I am slightly disappointed. First off why did you go with a 970 4GB instead of a 1070 8GB. Also WHY do you have a 1000 watt power supply? I know there is no point for this but you do you. I would have also recommended a cheaper 480GB SSD for half the price and a 1TB HHD. The rest of the build is very good and this should perfectly fit any need of yours. Also I am just trying to give you hints and not be harsh. So do not take it the wrong way. Lastly I have to say it is a pretty damn good build for only your second. Keep going!
I had no idea this was a tutorial to burn out a cpu. Well now I know. I pray to this guy now because he really helped. Now just clocked my 6700k to 5.4 Ghz. Thx again.
This is a... Well I am building a 1500 computer and it is going to perform better than this. Also I am building a setup for 500 dollars which is also way nicer and cleaner. HINT: Watch Swashin
I meant the motherboard chipset LGA2011 - 3 instaed of LGA1151
Thank you for replying, I agree with the bottom 2 statements. BUT feel like maybe upgrading to a newer chipset would be a good idea.
Don't buy this! Ok so this build is a nice one but overkill. Without a decent motherboard you pc will like have some shortages in the future. It does not need a 1080 but a 1070 would do. Also do not waste your money on a 960$ ssd when you could buy a 250 gb one saving all needed files on. The case is good but could be changed. Other than that maybe get a better cooling system for cpu because you will be clocking that very much. The theme is nice though and take some suggestions into consideration.
I think the build is great! There are a few thing you should have done different. So what I would have suggested is paying the extra few hundred for future proofing. These are like a 2011-3 motherboard and an i7 5820k. Also the case is not worth it next time buy an NZXT case for 70 instead of 120. Lastly why did you buy 2 monitors when you only need one when you could have upgraded. But the build i overall nice but you will have a huge expense in upgrades.
