That's right!

Lol it would be in a crisis if it could run at 1fps on any modern title.

PS: Did the cooler pump start "growling" before it failed?

woncom's Completed Build: 7.2Ghz my expensive successful OC PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks for the reply. I really thought you had to be pulling my leg about 7.2 Ghz. Even at one core that core would get smoking hot under any load. If you do get it to work stably be sure to add a picture of CPU-Z.

Building the PCs is an absolute blast. Keep at it. Seriously look into chilled fluid or colder. You may have the best 8086k ever built.

Merlac's Completed Build: Heisenberg server

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

That's really cool. Great job.

Loving your builds btw.

woncom's Completed Build: 7.2Ghz my expensive successful OC PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

I'm calling BS. I can post a BIOS shot of my 3570k, 4770k, or 4970k with crazy high settings too. Btw your test results show much lower settings. I'm surprised you got it to boot at 7.2 without cooking the CPU. Not that it's impossible with extreme subzero cooling. See 7.24 here

And 7.314 here

Notice the CPU-Z picture. Now read the core voltage set at 1.952. Even at 6ghz the core voltage has to be cranked up way over your setting.

If your wanting to try stable extreme overclocks, get into liquid nitrogen cooling.

JulianRob37's Completed Build: My (Pre)Built PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Putting one together and seeing it function is a blast. I like building a PC more than using one.

JulianRob37's Completed Build: My (Pre)Built PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Oh I have no idea who is downvoting. Didn't mean to accuse you there, fella. I figured it was someone who was in disagreement. I've seen it before and had no idea who was doing it those times either. The admins can tell but that's not me or I would still be another to vote. I cannot up, or down vote anymore. I'm glad it still exists. Wish I could still vote.

PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM VOTING

That's me

Edit Maybe it's the fella who had their comment deleted by the admins downvoting l :)

Are these the right pictures? The description is for something different. Anyway, woah.

At first I thought "Damn what a mess." But damn what a setup. I bet that's a blast to drive.

Thumbs up.

DK757's Completed Build: 1st PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

You should have a list of values drop down where the XMP is in the bios. Select the 3200mhz. It would freak me out if it stopped at 3000. That motherboard handles a lot higher frequency.

I angered the admins one too many times. Once before I'd been temporarily vote banned. I can be a smart ***. I'm glad they didn't ban me entirely.

grey033's Completed Build: Black and Blue Anime Showcase

Gooberdad 10 Builds 3 points 2 months ago

First build ever, or first build on here? This is great looking and has great part selection.

Thumbs up. (Sorry I can't upvote your build. Lost that privilege last year)

DK757's Completed Build: 1st PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Welcome to the home built PC Master race! Thumbs up on your build.

In regards to your ram speed. In your BIOS, did you set your ram to use the XMP profile 1? This should select the advertised frequency and timings for you.

Btw I cannot upvote your build. I lost that privilege a little while ago. :)

JulianRob37's Completed Build: My (Pre)Built PC

Gooberdad 10 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Yep stock speed of the DDR4 3200 RAM is 2133. You have to enable the XMP profile in the BIOS to get 3200. Nice to have presets to enjoy your higher ram speed.

Gooberdad 10 Builds 3 points 4 months ago

Heck yeah, but since he's not into gaming that would be a waste. Good choice. It's perfect as is.

Btw "compatibility issues" you proved them wrong. That cooler fits with room to spare! I suppose the website doesn't take into account using an SFX psu and adapter to get more space.
