This card is a beast. There's faint coil whining going on ,but barely audible through fans and headphones. Pump always runs at 100% and it's really loud.

This thing DESTROYS every single game I throw at it in 1080p, have yet to try it in UW 1440p. Temps hit 65ºC at their highest! A fair bit of coil whine and the pump is the loudest thing in the case but I'm always listening to music so it doesn't phase me.

    from completed build QHD Gamecube

Runs almost everything I've thrown at it at 4K/60fps, except some of the most demanding newer games, and even those run well with minor visual quality adjustments. The hybrid cooler is probably overkill for the box I built, but it keeps my temps at or below 50C at full load so I'm not complaining. The RGB LEDs are also a nice touch if you have a window on your machine.

Likely the 1070Ti makes a bit more sense overall at this point in time - but for me, I bought just at the right time, when, amazingly the hybrid was actually lower priced than the air cooled edition (?) -and- just prior to the loss in control of retail pricing.

the FTW edition of the Hybrid is a somewhat different configuration (due to add'l power supply) than the non FTW . . . the orientation of the Asetek built AIO is located a bit more inboard and the onboard MOSFETs cooling air fan is not a blower type (radial) but instead an axial which is actually sucking air out of the unit rather than into it (!)

The radiator fan was replaced on my build due in part to keeping with the theme design - BUT ... the initial release tests per my research indicated that the Rad fan speed (solely controlled by the PCB) was not adjustable and perhaps a bit too conservative (given that the copper plate was cooling the VRAM as well as the GPU) . . . . so, when replacing the Rad fan, I choose to power it from one of the motherboard fan headers and set a specific fan curve in the Bios

While the 1080 FTW Hybrid comes - out-of-the-box - with a Base/Boost clock of - 1721 GHZ / 1860 GHz . . . by just moving the bios switch to Slave (which raises the power target to 130%) I am getting 2021 GHZ without any overclocking effort . . . what more could you ask for?

My favorite 1080! Sadly I messed with my first card and had to get a refurbished card that reaches slightly lower OC and has slightly higher temps. But compared to other 1080s, this is a beast of a card with very low noise.

I don't know why I sprung for the Hybrid variant to be honest, upgrading to a custom loop might be difficult because of it. And it's a challenge to manage the CPU and GPU AIO tubing. But it definitely keeps the card cooler, no questions.

EVGA GTX 1080 Hybrids in SLI are also a winning pair. I was fortunate enough to purchase these cards at very reasonable prices when everything came back down for a moment. These cards run at very low temperatures especially when paired with EK FC1080 FTW waterblocks. I'm able to achieve 2088MHz in SLI with Memory overclocked to 6003MHz stable and keep both cards around 40-50c. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/6248212

from completed build First build of my own!

SO GOOD. I mean it. So so good. Overclocked to 2139 MHz, Memory up to 11Ghz. Came out of the box boosting to 2025 MHz. Haven't seen temps over 50c with it. Do yourself a favor though and use a motherboard controlled fan for the radiator or you won't get as good of cooling as you will have no control of the fan.

Ahhhh liquid cooling, but took a long road to get here. I was going to get a GTX 1070. Then I read that we liquid cool our CPUs but our GPUs are actually more suseptable to heat, and, heat faster to high temperatures. So hybrid GPU. Then I was going to get the 1070 hybrid GPU, and then the 1080 was on sale, and the bench marks don’t lie, so I decided to blow my budget. This was before the whole CPU shanenigans. No regrets.
