I'm studying french. We have a text file1 containing the most frequent french words. And we want to find all these words in another text file2. Can you help us?

for searching text inside files I use grepwin. So I can search for text across 100 files at once in a subfolder etc. I've never searched multiple criteria at once, but a quick google search says it can be done by using regex search format instead of text format. Grepwin is free as well.

use the proper regex: (abc|def)

NotePad++ will also do this. It might underline if you change some settings i'm not sure.. but by default it will highlight the search words it finds in the output which might be what you are looking for.
