Future modeling software

I know this is an odd question but I was just thinking about my renders and about CPU vs GPU rendering... is anybody working on hybrid rendering? If so is that something that should be accounted for when figuring out hardware plans or is it too far ahead of us?

what is hybrid rendering? using both CPU and GPU at one time?

usually the software with use 1 of the 2. CPU or GPU........I use GPU with the software I use, but my CPU performs 10% faster when rendering. I prefer the lower overall temps using "gpu".

maybe your rending question has nothing to do with "video"?? I may be off with your post.
