I'm curious what the dynamics are of this crowd. I've enjoyed seeing how many unique people share a common admiration for all things computer! Especially for those outside of IT/CS fields.
I am a 24-year old and live alone and fully support myself and my feather baby (bird). I have been playing video games casually since I owned my first super nintendo. During my senior year of college I had made an instagram solely for sharing screenshots from video games. I ended up making a ton of friends and found the instagram gaming community. They all convinced me to stream on twitch so I did through my PS4 during college. I graduated with a dual degree in Cell + Molecular Biology with Philosophy and minor in Biochemistry. ( yes, a nerd). I got a job within a few months of applying at a small private company in upstate New York as a molecular biologist. I moved out onto my own the week before I started working. I continued to stream, but grew frustrated with my game variety and streaming options. Eventually, a ton of people said to look into building a PC. I didn't know anything about PC building, but quickly did my research and for a few months I designed and saved up for all the parts. I ended up falling in love with everything about building PC's especially the pride you take in it once its finished. But yeah, moral of the story- I work full-time cloning DNA, yet still have found myself totally wrapped up in the PCPP community and lifestyle. Whats your story?
