im using a dying 6 year old HDD(franken build) and was thinking of switching my boot drive to an SSD so i was wondering if there was any way to transfer software licences from one to the other.

i have about $230 worth installed and dont want to lose this.

Yes you can use a cloning software like a acronis or Norton ghost. The make a exact replica of the drive. There are free ones out there too just search drive cloning software

so it works well for software?

a few other forums tell me its better to just reinstall and just clone the OS.

ill try it regardless~
