Using a rtx 2080ti with an i7 9700k.
I use the Dell Alienware 34" AW3418DW 21:9 3440x1440p and I LOVE IT!!!
100Hz Native/120Hz Overclock with G-Sync (DP cable) and the back light bleed on mine is very minimal. In fact I don't even notice it. Keep in mind many games don't support 21:9 aspect ratios (yet) so it'll basically be 27", or 4 inch black bars on either side. Some of my PC games run full 34" but others do not. Also, PS4 games and watching YouTube/Twitch is also down to 27". Movies though run full screen.
Thanks for the info!
I'm heavily considering an Ultrawide as the difference between a 27 inch IPS and a Ultraide IPS is $200-$300.
Any 27inch monitors you would recommend?
Yeah, I built my entire system around this monitor. It's the reason why I love PC gaming again.
As for support, what games are you talking about? Every game I play supports 3440x1440. Some of the cutscenes will have black bars on the sides, but actual gameplay, the bars disappear and you see EVERYTHING. I'm never going back to 16:9.

Honestly, if you have your heart set on an ultrawide then I would just get an ultrawide. At some point more and more games will support the 21:9 ratio and if you think about it, currently an ultrawide can be a 27" if you don't mind the black bars. It didn't take long for me to get used to them; watching movies is definitely a treat especially at 1440p.
