How to get my monitor to run at 144hz again

So I recently upgraded my graphics card to an RTX 2070, and it only supports DisplayPort & HDMI. My monitor only has 1 x VGA, 1 x DVI, and 1 x HDMI.

I bought a DisplayPort to HDMI cable but it still only runs at 60hz.

So is there any cable or adapter etc. that I could purchase to get it running at 144hz again?

I'm not actually sure if that is an active connector and if its a passive. Passive conversion cables only work if the source would support DP++. If it doesn't (and I wouldn't rely on it), then you'd need an active converter, which has its own chip inside of the cable to actively convert the signals from DVI to DP. Here's an active converter. https://www.amazon.com/CableCreation-DisplayPort-Eyefinity-Multi-Screen-Support/dp/B019Q7I2M0/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=dvi+dp+active&qid=1556485542&s=electronics&sr=1-3
