Should I get a 144hz monitor?

Cytracx

I was wondering if I should purchase a 144hz monitor instead of a 75hz but I'm not sure if this build will have enough power to run games at 144+ FPS on Medium-High Settings. Some games I had in mind- Fortnite, Rocket League, GTA V, Minecraft with some light mods (Pixelmon etc.) I know I'll be able to upgrade later but I was thinking if I were to upgrade in the future I could upgrade to a 144hz monitor and use the 75hz as a second monitor. I'm on a pretty tight budget at the moment which is why I'm not set on buying a 144hz off the bat.Let me know what you think! PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

The RX580 couldn't do the full 144 FPS but you're always more than welcome to get it now and just upgrade the GPU later on. For 144 FPS, you would ideally want at least a 1080 or 2070 in order to lock in 144 FPS and still be able to play on higher quality settings. The 1660ti could probably get fairly close on lower settings but again, not the full 144 FPS.

Alright, Ill probably just stick with the 75hz to start and upgrade from there whenever I decide to upgrade my GPU. Thanks for the response!

My opinion is that if you cant afford to upgrade to a decent 144hz monitor and gpu, then just stick with the cheaper setup for now. One problem with some cheaper 144hz monitors is that if you set it to 144hz mode, then the color degrades to some extent. 144hz monitors will be getting a bit cheaper this year and there are some new models coming out.

Then change the build accordingly, for being able to get a Free-sync Monitor!
