NVME on PCIe x4 or x2

I’m currently building a machine using the Gigabyte Aorus B450 Elite mobo. I’ve fitting the Aorus RGB NVME SSD which supports x4 PCIe. The trouble is the GPU sits right over the top of the x4 m.2 slot so I can’t see any of the RGB affect on the drive!!!

The x2 m.2 slot is perfectly located a bit lower down the board. I know the drive will run faster in the x4 slot but do you think I will realistically notice a difference?

It will both run slower and disable parts of the board differently then the top slot.

Edited: Bottom slot pulls its lanes from the chipset so portions of the board lose connectivity when it is in use.

Top slot is wired direct to the CPU so other then for Sata its use doesn't effect the board.

day-to-day, you most likely will not notice the difference unless you do heavy very workloads to/from storage.
