Wattage and PSU selection

benckend

I've been looking at parts for a while and have most things locked in. I have the EVGA 750W since it was only $60 over the holidays. However, it has jumped up considerably and I don't know when it will come down again.

I definitely want enough power to upgrade in the future but also plan on purchasing in the next month so waiting a year for good deals is off the table! What wattage and brand do you think is best for this build?

I'd super appreciate your thoughts and input!

Most PSU's are made by one or two companies and just re-branded to the company you are buying from. So any well known company like Corsair, EVGA, and ThermalTake is going to have solid units. You could comfortably run this build on 550-650 watts. You can save money by going semi modular or not modular, but that is up to you.

This would be a good pick.

Thanks! Would 650W be enough for future upgrades to CPU and GPU?

It should be plenty for any sort of reasonable upgrade. If you are moving up to like a 2700x or Zen 2 and the next gen GPU you will be fine. If you are moving up to like a 2950x TR chip and a Titan GPU then no.

You're welcome :)

Yeah that Case doesn't come with any intake fans!

So that's something worth mentioning.
