Mobo for R5 2600

I currently have the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC ATX picked out. I like the onboard wifi and aesthetic and it seems to have enough ports and support high enough ram (I'm buying DDR4-3000).

However, I'm curious about the X470 motherboards. Is there a reason for choosing them? They are slightly more expensive (I'm trying to stay around $150) and I don't really know the difference between them and the B450. Are the X470s more future-proof?

Love to hear thoughts and/or other recommendations in the same price range!

Thanks!

The MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC is an very good board for that price.

You don't need a X470 one. :)

If you don't need a Wireless LAN, you could even opt for those boards below, for cheaper.

But as you own that board anyway, there is no reason to spend money again and get a similar or even inferior board. :)

Thanks! I don't own it. It's just the one I've picked out to buy. What does the X470 do that the B450 doesn't?

Again, thanks for helping me out!

Not much really except the no NVIDIA multi GPU support.

Some less ports, but still plenty for a gaming PC.

Most important future...if i can call it that way, X470 boards are having better overclock abilities with multi core processors because the more robust power delivery system.
