Brand name and its pricing is throwing me off but basically I am helping someone in the uk to build a rig for gaming and working with unreal engine, (they know 0 about building, I know enough) we are past the whole "ryzen or intel" thing and they want a rig with a 1080.

Can anyone from the uk who knows part prices care to comment on this build, again it is "trying" to be price cautious. For all that is the love of PC gaming and work. Thank you!

P.S He requested that case.

At best of my knowledge and a quick research Unreal Engine uses all cores.

You can show this case too and ask your friend if he/she likes it Fractal Design - Focus G (White) ATX Mid Tower Case.

Back to Ryzen eh? 8700 should more then fine, even if the R7 has more cores bbut ill run that by him again. I just wanted to make sure everything on this 8700 build lines up and isn't too pricey in comparison to other reliable brands regarding the same-ish parts.

Thanks again for your input!

Case is low quality. PSU is Very mediocre, no SSD? That’s a must.

He wanted me to help him with the basic hardware, bells and whistles (ssd, ect) are up to them. They picked the case, was having a problem trying to find a PSU w/ an actual price, how about now?https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rg2WbX

I couldn't access that link, so here's the recommended PSU. 450 watts is more than enough as the PC likely won't draw more than 200 watts under load.

Nowadays, SSDs are considered essential for PCs. Better to put it in. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qMqdnQ/a-data-internal-hard-drive-asp600s3256gmc

For whatever reason the "uk" search give's me a ton of PSU's but they mostly have no prices... Ill keep looking for an affordable 80+bronze/semi with good reviews to link him, ( im personally partial to evga but.. ) I was trying to check every box and was aiming more for a 650 watt to help with future proofing but i imagine a PSU will go before the he needs a new GPU, 1080 should last him a good bit.

Thanks again !!

A 550 watt PSU is more than enough, even if you add in a 1080 TI.

Here's some excellent PSUs with UK pricing.
