Deciding on power supply for my first build.

Hi I'm looking to build my first PC and I've selected all the parts I'm going to need. My only question is that would be 650W PSU be overkill for this build? I think the approximated wattage is around 279W. The only reason I selected the 650W instead of 550W PSU of the same brand is because the 650W turns out to be cheaper for some reason. So my question is just how much overhead wattage is in the safe range?
