Not sure what Supernova you are talking about since EVGA has like 5 different models under that name but all of EVGA PSU's from the crappy N1 to the god tier T2 are continuous.

Don't buy that PSU, it is awful for your money. Its a average overall PSU with a price that competes with units that way out of its league like the G2, G3, Corsair RMx, Benfix Whisper, etc.

What's the difference between these G1, G2, G3, Corsair RMx etc. (building my first PC)

The G2 and G3 use the same platform, the G2 is just slightly better but they are still within each other reach, the RMx has similar performance and build quality compared to the G2/G3, the same goes for the Whisper. The G1 is quite different though, it uses a group regulated design which is older and it has worse performance and build quality.
