Here's a head to head comparison, and in summary they favor the larger volume Crucial over Samsung but in the 256GB and under range, the EVO is the winner...

Keep in mind that if you're going from HDD to SSD as your OS drive, these kind of comparisons will only really matter in benchmarks. Get the one that fits your budget best for the size, paying some attention to the review numbers as they'll give you an indication of which one seems to be the best seller (for good reason).
