I've got some old laptop hard drives that I want to put into a desktop. I think all I need is an ide to sata adapter, will this one work? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2013-New-Pin-Power-Data-to-4-Pin-IDE-Power-SATA-Data-hard-Cable-45cm-15-7-/171160455599?pt=US_Drive_Cables_dapters&hash=item27d9f549af

I have not used those cables so I don't know if it works but it should. Although I don't really see the point of using laptop IDE hard drives in a desktop since it would be terribly slow and with low space.

That's got a sata data connection for the drive end, wanna link to/post the drive model numbers?

I've used a similar cable in the past iirc and it worked just fine, like mark says they'll be slow but if you're just storing mp3/video/other data on them it shouldn't be a big deal, IMO.
