Hey,

I need some help with all my videos and tv shows that i have on my HDD.

I recently upgraded to windows 8.1 through a clean install. I was previously on windows 7.

All my TV shows and movies no longer seem to want to play. it get error messages saying that the file cannot be played, like it doesn't exist.

You may need this;

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

It's free.

I don't think that a base version of 8.1 has a media player with it. If you want to stay with a MS product you may try this:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/feature-packs

Down side is it's $99 if you don't have 8.1 Pro (then it's $10)

This is assuming (oh no) that you had you media files stored somewhere besides the drive you did the clean install on.
