That's a pretty old integrated graphics chip in your laptop (you have a laptop, not a PC, right?)

I would say, nothing would run properly on it that came after 2008 (since the GMA 4500 MHD was launched at this year, and it wasn't designed for gaming after all.) So you're going to use the display of the laptop, right? No external monitor?

You might be able to play Counter-Strike: Global Offense with it on lowest settings, but even that could be a problem to reach a playable FPS.

I wonder if Counter-Strike 1.6 would run properly on your hardware at all. Maybe you should try this classic first, as it has pretty low requirements.

You want to play real time games with this graphics. I dare to say: not gonna happen. Not with games later than 2008. I would say, maybe aim for some round based games, as you can get away with lower FPS there.

It is developed by Valve. The game is from the same era as Counter-Strike 1.6. I'm pretty sure it uses the Half-Life engine as well. Point is, it should have very similar requirements to CS 1.6, so if one runs, the other should as well.

One note, though: do some reading before buying as these games are pretty old and I am not sure how many people play them. After all, these are multiplayer online games, not single player games.

Yeah any goldsrc (Half-Life 1) engine game should run on this well enough. Team Fortress Classic, HL1, CS 1.6, Day of Defeat, Ricochet, Natural Selection 1(a mod but a very good one).

Look for games from around 2005. Medieval: Total War is one of my favs from back then if you want an RTS. But the old Valve category as mentioned before is good. Unreal Tournament or UT2004 are good. No One Lives Forever is kind of a cult classic from back then, if you can find it. Stealth FPS game. The old Thief games are also classic and stealth FPS games.

Honestly don't know about racing =D

GOG.com is a good site for older games and its not only fairly cheap but tweaks all the games to work on current gen PC/OS.

I was going to recommend this, but at work it is blocked and I could not confirm if No One Lives Forever is on there.

Regardless, it is a cool site and a good recommendation!

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games are not very intensive. They are good for about 20 hours, minus all the side quests. Jade Empire is also very good.

GOG.com

Your one stop shop for a bunch of old games.

Racing:

  • Flatout 2 (Really great silly fun)

Other than that I'm blanking since I don't really like racers but: https://www.gog.com/games/sports?sort=bestselling&page=1

Shooters:

Serious Sam, Doom, Unreal Tournament 2004, System shock 2, Thief(more of a stealth game but sure), God so many: https://www.gog.com/games/shooter?sort=bestselling&page=1

Also, if you're not opposed to it, I really recommend that you play some old RPG games too. Really, games like Arcanum, Planescape torment and Fallout 2 are classics and will run on about anything. Plus strategy games, really you can't go wrong with classic games.
