It's like clockwork. Every year around Christmas our moderation load jumps significantly. We end up banning users at a much higher rate for behavior that grossly violates our guidelines. Some people come in and think they can be jerks - that won't fly here.
We banned a user a couple days ago for private messaging build services along with picture from builds they supposedly did. Only some of those pictures were from other peoples' builds, not theirs. Insta-ban. People who spam a few people on our site get a warning. People who spam a bunch get banned. People who fraudulently try to mislead our users get a ban and me shaking my fist in the air.
Other things that will warrant an insta-ban:
Registering an account, then jumping out with hate speech or racial slurs right out of the gate.
Registering an account, then immediately insulting others.
Trying to scam users (via selling items, obvious scams on $$$ for build advice, etc).
Submitting fake builds with pictures taken from other builds (often prominent/famous) on other sites.
