So long story short, I had an old Dell computer lying around, and the motherboard recently died. As far as I know the cpu is still intact. Do you guys think it would be worth it to salvage the cpu and make a rig out of it?

I haven't done anything with it yet. It was a great CPU.

The problem is I need an LGA 1155 motherboard, and those aren't sold in a lot of places.

That is a good pair. It will run all modern games well at 1080p.
