Description

I built this for 3D modeling, Rendering, and photo editing (though I plan to start Video Editing too) My first build overall I decided to go for Ryzen 7 1700 as a nice 8 core CPU to help with CPU Rendering (Arnold). I got Vega for overall performance in Maya, and I've decided to use Pro Render to complement my usage of Arnold. I had no use for CUDA cores and the 64 was cheaper than both my other options (WX 7100 and Vega FE. It's also the reason for my blue case as I bought the GPU last)

This being my first time I was nervous putting everything together. At the end my system wouldn't post due to the RAM sticks being in the wrong slot. I guess I had the motherboard upside down as the sticks were in A1 and B1, and they'd only work in A2 and B2 (or Vise versa) Other than that everything works just fine and I'm loving how smooth this build is.

I bought a used HDD (The Hitachi) for around 90$ for a back up drive. I plan to add more storage as I go along just because I want to fill up most slots, It seems empty and I really like opening up the case to tinker with stuff.

I plan to get a 4k monitor soon, speakers, and another desk so my PC can be off the ground but all in all I'm loving it

PS I really need to work on my photography skills

Blue ring is when I first got it up and running, Red ring is now

I just found out a review showing that the high-end stock AMD video cards actually have pretty awesome build and parts quality - Gamers Nexus.

Bear in mind that the RX Vega 64 is very close in performance to the Vega Frontier Edition, and even better in games!

Great build!

It's pretty good. I have a 1440p monitor 60hz...the few games I play like Paragon and Guild Wars 2 are maxed and above 60 fps.

I guess it gets loud, idk it's my first card. My gaming laptop was louder under load but some people are sensitive to noise so just putting it out there

thats neat does the xfx graphics card support true 4k gaming through a displayport onto a 4k monitor

I would assume so

Don't have a 4k monitor to test it out (yet)

But yes it has displayport

Stock cooler?

Why not? It's RGB (I think), and all-around a great stock cooler for decent overclocking.

Actually, AMD came out with a cool stock cooler for once, I wouldn't mind using that one for an Intel build :P
