This is my first ever build. I am using it for gaming mostly, but also work (like video editing and CAD) and web surfing. Here is my part choices and why I chose them:
CPU: I think I got a pretty good deal on it and it is a great cpu.
CPU Cooler: I liked the look of the H105 better than the H100i. Also liked the ability to change the ring color to red to match the theme of the system.
Motherboard: This board made it very easy to connect everything (with the exception of the front panel switches). It also looks very good in my case and makes the build look awesome in my opinion.
Memory: I love the look of the heat spreaders on the modules. I Also got this much memory for fast render times and CAD usage.
Storage: The 840 EVO is a great SSD. Such an amazing upgrade from a standard hard drive. The 2TB HDD is for extra files to keep space free on the SSD.
Video Card: These cards are amazing. They fit very easily into the case and perform very well. It is nice that you don't have to connect a bridge for crossfire to work.
Case: This case caught my eye at first sight. It looks very nice and is amazing for cooling. I love how my drives and power supply are on the other side of the case. Also, it made the build look clean without doing any work on cable management. (Please ask me if you want to see a photo of that side of the case)
Power Supply: This is an awesome power supply. It came packaged really well and has so many plugs so I never need to worry if I have enough wattage to make upgrades or want to add peripherals.
Optical Drive: Outstanding for the price I got it at. Amazing read speeds for standard CD's/DVD's.
Operating System: I got 8.1 professional just because... lol. Anyway, I like windows 8 so I got it and it looks nice across my displays.
Monitors: Very good for triple displays. I would recommend these to anyone looking for monitors for a triple display. The bezels are smaller than the average and are smoothed to the surface of the screen.
Fans: All the fans I picked are working well and light the case up nicely.
Keyboard: Very cool how I can change the lighting for each section and nice to type on. I still need to get used to the layout in games (after using cheap included desktop and mac keyboards). Overall great keyboard.
Mouse: Awesome customization abilities and very comfortable. I have heard though that they tend to fail, so I am prepared for that.
Speakers: Just... Amazing. Nothing like I've heard before.
A few problems I had was when I rebooted the computer, I would have to set up the eyefinity again, But I fixed that by updating the drivers. Also, like mentioned above, figuring out how to connect the front panel switches was a pain.
Overall, I am very happy with this system and am looking forward to playing games! Feel free to comment your thoughts and what I could have done differently. Also, if you want more pictures, let me know what you want a picture of and I will most likely add it. (If one of you knows how to measure CPU and GPU loads please tell me in the comments. Thanks) Thanks for looking at my build.
