Description

Finally upgrading from my i5 2500k that I built 5 years ago. And it feels great!

Also here is a picture of my two dogs fresh from the groomers! :)

Part Reviews

CPU

Solid piece of engineering!
Overclocked to 4.8GHz @ 1.28vAVX offset of 3.

CPU Cooler

Very quiet. I have the pump going 100% and I can hardly hear it. I have the fans going 75% and it doesn't bother me one bit.

They also look A-MEI-ZING!

Motherboard

Great looking motherboard. No complaints on it whatsoever. I would recommend 100%.

Memory

These look beautiful. Overclocked to 3000mhz and they are wonderful to look at. Still pretty expensive though.

Video Card

Does what I need it too. Overclock (+150mhz gpu clock , +200mhz memory clock)

150fps on Overwatch ULTRA.

90fps+ fps on Witcher 3 Ultra (hairworks off)

Case

Case is gorgeous and very easy to work with.

Power Supply

What can I say? It works and I know it's reliable. No ketchup and mustard on the cables.

Case Fan

Works and looks great. Loud at 100% but I never go above 80%.

Case Fan

Looks great. Seems the 140mm fan makes noises above 80%. So I never go above that threshold. I talked to customer support and they are in the process of sending me a new one so I hope it doesn't make the same noise.

Case Accessory

Works great. Easy to install. after 2 months one strip stopped working. Not sure why but customer support is sending me new strips.

Custom

Works great. Saved me since my mobo only had one usb header so I needed to get more and this hub was the answer. Now I can plug in my 2.0 usb headers from my case, kraken and hue+.

Custom

great looking cables. much better than the cables that come with the psu!

Nice build. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind me asking. I have the same case and was going for the same board and memory you have. Any problems with the memory because I don't see it listed on Asus QVL and how are your temps in the case with your 7700K?

Thank you

Memory works fine with my mobo. No issues there.

About 30c idle 55-60c while gaming 73-77 under stress test

4.9 GHz @ 1.35v with XMP enabled.

Quick questions. I just bought this motherboard and case, but I have read a few reviews about the lack of internal usb 2.0 ports. How did you get the kraken and case front usb 2.0 plugged in with only one internal usb 2.0? First time builder and I'm hoping there is a way without having to buy a usb extension port??

Thank you!

You would have to grab the internal usb hub from nzxt (link below)

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/7qH48d/nzxt-ac-iusbh-m1-internal-usb-hub-with-3-internal-connectors-and-2-external-connectors-black

it plugs into your single usb 2.0 hub on your motherboard and it gives you 3 total usb headers to use. (usb 2.0 header from the case, kraken and hue+ are currently connected to my internal usb hub.

Hey quick question, so which fan is on the top and which is on the back? I know only the 140 mm only fits on a specific one in this case, just wanted to double check which way it is to be set up. Awesome build!

120mm on the back and 140mm on the top

Very nice build! I have a quick question if you don't mind, were you able to get your RGB RAM to sync up through CAM software, or did you use your ASUS motherboard to do that through the Aura software?

Cheers

I had to use aura software to change the ram modules unfortunately
