Description

I decided a while ago I wanted to watercool my current custom built, but the insane pricetag on a copper or nickel loop was way over my budget. Then I found EK's fluidgaming lineup. This build is my first watercooled one, and it was an adventure. For a first time watercooler, the manual from EK was helpful, but I really only needed it for the GPU pads and CPU backplate. The loop leaked around the GPU plugs, but it was minor and was dried up easily.

Overall, despite the negative reviews on the a240G I am really impressed with the quality for the price in all of the parts included, and the temps I got after installation. However, the bracket that came with the pump really isn't "universal" for most cases. You'd need to have fan mounts in the bottom of your case. Since I don't have any bottom fan mounts, I modded the case by drilling holes in the PSU shrowd. It worked ok, but the pump is somewhat wobbly. It won't go anywhere though.

This build is mainly used for CAD designing/simulations, Premiere Pro, an assortment of games, and some programming. I'm looking into getting custom cablemod cables with the 20% off coupon included with the motherboard, but I'm waiting on that for now.

Storage

Way better value than samsung and just as fast

Case Fan

Create an annoying buzzing noise at max RPM, but otherwise quiet.

Nice job, just missing the money shot (you know, a picture of the whole system). +1

I hear you on the pricing thing! Custom loop is super expensive. As long as you have a card that is compatible with the water-block, I think you'll be okay though! It's easy enough to find any additional components to supplement your loop with!

I would to see what your temperatures come out, too. I assume the temperatures you listed are non-watercooled temps.

Awesome. Cudos using ek a240g

Also... might want to check if the waterblock is finicky about which G1/4 is used for inlet and outlet. I think some care while others don't, but better to check before you fill the loop.

I love it, but what are you using to take pictures? Just curious because of the noise.

Have to downsize the photos a minute. PCPP doesn't accept 6000x4000 photos

Should be new pictures now
