Description

Purpose: Gaming and editing/rendering.

If you guys loved the pics then you will definitely love the video. Its on my channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XshgY77Dju4

Motherboard: The best of the best, had to go with an overkill mobo such as the Rampage :) P.S. PCpartpicker stated that this motherboard and this case are incompatible...I showed them! (please fix that error)

CPU: Had to go with a 6-core i7 because 6cores are amazing for rendering and Intel has the best CPU's on the planet. The performance boost between the 4930k and 4960x are ~6% so I got more bang for the buck.

CPU Cooler: Nothing special, just went with a brand I trust and this is their best cpu cooler.

RAM: went with Dominator Platinum's, the best money can buy and got 16gb to help with editing/rendering. Also the color being silver is a huge Plus :D

GPU: What can I say, had to rock a 780ti. Great for editing/rendering and awesome for gaming. (I sanded off the green lettering on the side so it can show off as white which matches my theme.

Case: I love this case, its my favorite case to date. Mid-Sized tower, beautiful and elegant design, love the fact that you can hide the power supply underneath and cable management was super easy!

OS: I personally hate windows 8.1 but I got it because it offers better performance in most areas.

Storage: Believe it or not, I dont use up much space. 512gb is plenty for me. I watch a lot of movies, play games and edit a lot of files and I organize and delete ones that I dont use which always leave me with plenty of space. I have never used more than 300gb of space in my life. If that time comes ill add another 512gb SSD with RAID 0 right next to it.

Fans: Standard quiet fans, again from a brand I trust. They also have replaceable rings which I can match to my theme!

I love technology and I love building PC's, my channel revolves around this and if you guys like to see more PC builds then feel free to check it out. I will upload constantly on this website as well so make sure to check back frequently to see more cool builds. Leave any criticisms bad or good in the comments section because I love reading all of them and please leave a -1 or +1 (whichever you think this build deserves). Thank you!

Alright, thank you! I was also planning a black and white build too! if you want here's the link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3dEvH If I can figure out how to get the logo white then I will most likely get the reference card :)

  • 6 points

sweet parts! Basically just grab some sand paper 280-350 grit and rub it against the letters, it wont scratch the card and it will just rub off the paint on the letters and you are good to go!

The whole time I was looking at the build my mind was saying "ugh that green GPU logo is going to ruin this amazing build" ..... You proved me SO WRONG! amazing! I had no idea you could sand off the green like that.

Sweeeeet! +1!

I honestly think you should be getting better Firestrike scores than that. I have a 7970, and this is what I got: http://puu.sh/7GHeg.jpg

  • 1 point

Ya, not much I can do there. Thats what it gave me. Maybe I had some programs running in the background or something.

  • 2 points

Were there any problems with the fit of the motherboard?

  • 1 point

No problems, only thing is, since it was a bigger motherboard, it will cover the rubber grommets on the right side, so for cable management you just have to run the cables to the side of the case like we did in the picture.

  • 2 points

I love this! My build budget only supports a 200r, hope I can make do until I can get the H440!

Which would be the best way to run a radiator, 2 fans in a pull or 4 in a push pull?

  • 1 point

If you have the room go with 4 push/pull, but if you dont, like I didnt, then go with 2 fans. The CPU is the coolest I have ever had in any of my PC builds with 2 fan setup, I dont know if the difference would be extremely higher if you added 2 more fans, but I assume it would help a little at least.

Do you have a video of you sanding down that green geforce logo. Would love to do the same just not sure how to.

  • 2 points

Unfortunately I dont :( Its really simple, just get a sand paper 200-300 grit and sand it off slowly and carefully. You cant damage the card that way and its really easy, just takes time.

  • 2 points

Love the build! So clean and that white LED GEFORCE GTX! Simply stunning! I have to ask, if you look at my build, I have an orange and black theme, where did you get the mod to turn the green to white? I would love to change mine to orange.

  • 1 point

You have to take apart your card 1st, and sand down the lettering with light sand paper.

  • 2 points

You should really do a detailed video on sanding down that logo. I think it would be one of a kind( haven't checked). Also not sure if you care enough about the mouse but the Clg Deathadder 2013 edition looks great and is black and white.

Um, it shipped pretty quick from newegg. 1 day after I ordered it.

  • 1 point

Really? I've seen it always says it ships in 1-2 months..

  • 1 point

When I ordered it, it was in stock. I guess its sold out now :/

I see :C cause I checked on amazon and NCIX and they always had said 1-2 months ;/

  • 2 points

For $3500, I was expecting at least dual 780 tis, but if 1 is all you need, then that's cool. Apart from that, I'm loving those white cables and LED's. Fantastic cable management, too. One of the best looking builds I've ever seen. Very nice job.

  • 1 point

Thanks for the compliments! Ya, I figured 1 Ti would suffice for what I am using the PC for. I can always add 1 later on if I feel like I need it.

  • 2 points

The only thing that worries me about this case is the lack of airflow. What are your temperatures at idle/load on the GPU?

  • 1 point

Air flow is fine. I edit a lot of videos and game hardcore and yet have witnessed any problems. Ill check today and report back.

  • 2 points

Thanks for the quick reply!

  • 2 points

The H440 is a killer case and I too was skeptical about the ventilation. What has been your experience over the past few months?

  • 1 point

Excellent air flow, surprised nothing overheated. Add an H100i Liquid Cooler and you will be set to go. I have 2 GTX 780ti's connected to my Rampage Black Mother board on the H440 case. (See Big Red PC) Temps run fine. Had it over a year.

  • 1 point

Thanks. Btw I was considering between H100i, H100i GTX and CM Nepton 240M. Some users said mounting the H100i is difficult, is it so?

  • 1 point

h100i is the easiest cooler I have mounted on an H440 case. They smoking crack.

Hey man, so does it not allow for an Optical drive at all?

  • 2 points

You can if you want. I just did not want one.

  • 2 points

Oh alright. The reason I ask is because I want to use the same case as you. But when I try to add an optical drive the compatibility checker tells me the case won't allow for one.

  • 2 points

Bravo!

  • 2 points

Hey man I am doing a similar build but in the Corsair 750D I boght the 3 fans like you the Corsiar Air Series AF140 where would I put them? Did you put 4 fans on the rad or just two on the bottom? And where is the 3 fan in your build? and where did you put the corsiar 120mm Fan?

  • 1 point

2 fans on the radiator, 1 140mm fan on the back and thats basically all the fans I used.

  • 2 points

But then why did you buy 3 fans 140 fans?

  • 1 point

2x 120mm (Radiator) 1x 140mm (Rear exhaust) 3x Stock fans on the front.

  • 2 points

Hey how's the heating on this? I'm thinking of buying it and was worried about the small vents.

  • 1 point

Its pretty cool, i wouldnt put 2 graphics cards in there though. Check the Temps I added on the right side.

Almost the exact same build I plan to do with the same uses. What kind of render times are you getting. Used to take me like a day to render a 10 sec scene from Cinema 4D, and after effects is like 2hrs for a 3min video

  • 1 point

Adobe premiere takes me 5min to render something thats ~11min long.

How are you liking this motherboard so far? I'm looking at building a gaming rig around it in preparation for Star Citizen next year. Part of my brain is screaming: No, wait, the x79 is at the end of its life cycle, the other (the main) part of my brain is going: Your laptop is dying, it needs a good replacement now!

Anyhow, I'll be lowballing myself on the Videocard on the near future purchase and pumping this baby with an i7 CPU if you think it's a good investment... Especially since I'd be going over my short term budget if I did otherwise.

  • 2 points

How would one go about achieving that amazing White GEFORCE GTX Logo?

  • 2 points

To be honest. I'm In love with this build. Every thing is awesome. One question please, how did you make the GEFORCE GTX glow with white instead of green? Is it related to LED cables?

  • 1 point

Nope, we sanded it off. I am doing another build soon with the same concept and in the video I will show how its done. Make sure to stick around at our channel to find out how we did it.

Probably not as smooth but with a 780ti you should expect 30-40 fps in most games. Just add in another one later and you'll get the one best systems around for 4k. :)

  • 2 points

Nice build. Just a quick question. Did you connect all the fans to the fan hub and then the hub to the motherboard or did you connect each fan to the motherboard?

  • 2 points

Great looking rig. Just needs a little work done of the cable management edgewise looks great, my only suggestions would be some clamps on the front of the board to hold the power cables in a little neater fashion and something to tie the cables down to the back of the board.

  • 2 points

Hiya! I'm not super knowledgeable on computer hardware yet, so sorry if this seems like a dumb question to ask. Will this PC be able to handle large games and recording simultaneously? I'm also an editor and film maker so it's nice to see that you built it with that in mind :P It's a very beautiful computer and I'm in the market for a new one and sadly I just don't have the knowledge to build one at the moment. Wow your 6 core is very expensive..

Ever tried AMD? The AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor is only $135

If I wanted to downgrade, I would go for AMD.

Thanks bro! OK, so here are you answers.

1) The motherboard was a perfect fit if you dont mind it overlapping the grommets on the right side. Also the motherboard will touch the case metal since the NZXT kind of curves outward, so what we did to mitigate that was cut out some of the grommets that was not going to be used (the ones that the motherboard was covering)and put those under the motherboard on the section where it touches the motherboard just to make sure nothing bad happens.

2) Remove the card from the PC and take apart the side plate and the top 2 plates of the GPU and you gain access to the LOGO which is on the side of the GPU, take some light sand paper 200-300 grit and sand it off slowly and carefully, make sure to aim the GPU in a way that the sandpaper particles fall straight down and not get it in your GPU. Once the letters are sanded off, get an air blaster and blast away any particles just incase some got on the card. Replace everything back on the GPU and insert in your PC.

Hope that helps!

If you look directly at the case, on the right side there are 2 grommets, those are the 2 that you are going to overlap and you are going to have to add some grommets under the right side of the motherboard (if you look at the nzxt case you can see the case inside wall kind of curve outwards) thats where you have to add the rubbers. Its really obvious, once you start to do it.
