Description

A friend went financially overboard with his budget halfway through his build and since he really needed cash he offered to sell it to me for a damn good deal. He ended up getting an Xbox One X instead with what I paid.

I still needed a few parts to complete the build. I scoped out my town hard for a decent GPU to pair with. I live in a pretty small city so sometimes there isn't a lot of parts around. I ended up getting a complete separate build because there was nothing individually being sold. That's how I got the Zotac 1060 6GB in the Carbide case. It was a solid decision, because as you can see, I was able to get GPU that I needed for a good price and I can put the other parts into other builds.

I had someone interested within weeks of putting it up for sale on my local marketplace. I really liked how it turned out with the Meshify Mini.

Thanks for checking it out!

Part Reviews

Motherboard

Not beefy heatsinks like the B350 Pro4 but it does the job just fine for an i5 8400. I imagine it would be okay with a 8600K as well.

Memory

Good value RAM, at least for Intel ... Slow timings in general make it sloppy for Infinity Fabric and overclocking in general. Grab it on sale and you're golden.

Video Card

Not the best card, but good. Small FX.

Case

Bangin'. Super clean airflow, cable management and filtration. MATX! Only gripe is the TG mounts & grommets.

+1 for cat. Does the 8400 and 1060 make for a good combo?

Absolutely, it can handle anything up to 2080 standards i'd say.

I would've gone for an SSD to boot from or atleast a 7200 RPM HDD. Pretty clean, I must admit.

How much would you say the 1060 amp is worth in USD because i live in the UK and i know the prices are kinda the same.

I got a great deal on it but if I were selecting one for myself I would get a flashier one like the Gaming X.

two of your photos appear to have a different case/psu. The meshify C is a beauty tho! Nice build!

Where do you think I got the GPU from?

Are the front fans slightly off-center? Is it because they are 120mm? Or am I just seeing things

  • 2 points

Yes they are slightly off-center as is the way it's built. More cable management room I suppose. I like it :)

I have one question, how many fans can be mounted onto the front, top and rear of the case?
