Description

Originally when I built this machine, I didn't have a whole lot of computer hardware knowledge or experience, but after about a year and countless upgrades and hours spent making it look beautiful and powerful, I'm finally ready to share my creation. I use it mainly for heavy gaming with a little bit of twitch streaming here and there.

Part Reviews

CPU

The 7800x is a great value in my opinion. I got it in a newegg bundle with the motherboard, cpu, and H75 cpu cooler so I ended up saving hundreds. As for performance, it does everything I need it to and more. My only gripe is the heat when overclocked but that's not too big of a deal with liquid cooling.

CPU Cooler

Great CPU cooler. Does its job and does it well.

Storage

For 1Tb of storage, you can't argue with the price. I've had no problems with it and it's fairly fast. Good product.

Video Card

The ACX 3.0 cooler doesn't do the best job compared to other cards but it still keeps the card decently chilly. Would recommend spending the extra few dollars to either get the FTW version or the Hybrid version.

Case

Easily the best case I've ever worked in. I was really surprised at all the features included for such a low cost. I would highly recommend the case, but my one suggestion is to get a few more fans in there (preferably 3 in the front as intake and 1 in back and 2 on top as exhaust) because the airflow leaves a lot to be desired at stock. Once you get some extra fans in there and get it all set up (which is fairly easy compared to some other cases at this price-point due to plenty of cable management room and extra features), it ends up looking really nice and being highly functional. Very glad I went with this case.

Monitor

Most amazing gaming experience I've ever gotten on any monitor ever. The G-sync plus the insane 180hz refresh rate makes gaming buttery smooth. If you don't mind TN panels, it's a great monitor. I would recommend waiting for a deal to buy.

Mouse

Ergonomics are wonderful, LEDs are nice, and high DPI helps with gaming. Great purchase.

How comfortable is that chair? I looked it up after seeing your build and they are relatively inexpensive for the style compared to other brands. +1 for build. Like the Utada Hikaru song, it's simple & clean.

The chair is fairly comfortable. There's not a lot of cushion to it but the faux leather is soft enough and it's very nice to sit in even for prolonged periods of time. The build quality is really nice. I've had it for about 6 months now and so far I've had no problems that couldn't be fixed with the re-tightening of a few screws on the bottom. It was super easy to set up (took me like 5 minutes max) and I got it on a deal for about $150 which is a great price. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a new gaming chair.

Good idea going with the 7800x, its actually a good value now if you can find an inexpensive X299 board.

Yeah I actually got a great mobo + cpu bundle deal from newegg that saved me like $50+ and it came with the Corsair H75 liquid cooler so it was a great value.

Great build, man. How's the case btw? Been thinking if using that for my first build.

What are the temps like on the CPU?

Sorry I took so long to reply, PCPartPicker didn't feel the need to send me a notification about this question.

The temps are very good using the Corsair H75. I idle around 35-40°C and cap out around 65°C at full load (which I never hit in a real world situation).
