Description

Mostly a gaming pc but i use it for pretty much everything, this is the most modern version of the build list but when i first built it as of 2014 it has some other parts these parts included:

gammaxx 400 cooler, Corsair carbide 500r case, EVGA gtx 770 ftw 4gb gpu, razer deathstalker keyboard, redragon centrophorus mouse, and ASUS VS239H-P 1080p monitor

and I have been upgrading it over the years and still using it today.

Part Reviews

CPU

very solid cpu that still holds up really well even in 2017. Been using mine for 3+ years and it still runs great and snagged it for $300 new back when i got it. Only con is that the one i got isnt a great overclocker at 4.5ghz but hey thats the silicon lotery for ya, and is kept at 55 degrees C under load by a CM Captain 360. I love this cpu

Case

super exspensive, glass panel variant was only sold in australia, was $500 for awhile but dropped to $300 when i got it but still fealt ripped off, is a massive pain to build in. only pro about it is that it looks cool, and that its a working product. The air filters do litearlly nothing and are just heald on by some terrible glue and they will fall off if you just poke it. If you want some good air filters just go get a few silverstone ones and screw them in between your fans. Case is also stupidly heavy cuz its mostly metal but i like that its metal because it just feels a lot more sturdy so thats expected.

Have you ever thought about switching to ryzen?

ya, was thinking about threadripper for my new build but idk. and the 1800x really wont give much more to me in terms of gaming performance. So i think i may get coffee lake. im not made of money so spending a few hundered dollars more for another 980 ti that looks the same wasnt really an option. I dont really need a ton of extra cores just better performance per core.

if u mean the 980 tis, they are 2 different ones cuz i got the second one for really cheap so i took the shot. if you mean the 770 with the 980 ti i was using the 770 as a physx card. You can use 2 different brands together in sli they just need to have the same amount of vram
