This is my second build ever. My first ever build was a very budget FX-6300 build I did about 4 years ago and I finally decided to upgrade after letting some prices drop (looking at you DDR4)!
Some of these parts I had in my old build, such as the SSD, 1TB WD HDD, Corsair PSU and Windows 10. The 1070 I've had since the second week of release back in 2016 the girlfriend gave as a bday gift (before mining was a thing). Prices weren't so bad! Because she gave me that GPU it still felt budget-y.
Ultimately the GPU is what was my driving force and led me to upgrade to match the GPU's performance with a solid CPU and overall Gaming / Workstation. I finally dismantled my old gaming PC and used those funds to fund this build.
This PC allows me to run anything at 1440P on Ultra at some steady FPS and murder anything at 1080P. Funny enough I was given for Christmas the Oculus Rift which is great because the GPU can handle anything and now the overall PC can handle it smoothly.
It's a dream build I've always wanted with water cooling (in this case, AIO), strong GPU, great looking case and some lighting. I'm very happy with it may eventually add 2 more sticks of ram and some LED Strips but I like the subtle amount of RGB!
