Description

My first PC build ever and I am very happy with it. It replaced my dell 7737 with a i7 4500u and a gt 750m as my main computer and the difference is night and day. I use it mainly for gaming that's why I leaned towards a more powerful gpu and the build it was alto easier than it seamed (but it was extremely scary to install the cpu). All the parts preform great and their was no issues with any of them. I also orderd a led case fan and HUE+ to make it look cooler since it was very dark inside the case and I included the warranties in the part prices.

Part Reviews

CPU

Great cpu I picked it up at micro center for $180 it overclocked to 4.2ghz with no voltage change.

CPU Cooler

Good performance but its a little hard to install and it comes with thermal goo

Motherboard

Its a good value the UEFI is easy to use and it is lives up to the ultra durable name.

Memory

Got it for $75 and I think it was a glitch in the website since the 2133mhz was at higher price.

Storage

It almost as fast as a 850 but its $20 less

Video Card

I got it because it was the cheapest 1070 and it looks cool. The fans dont start untill it hits 40c, its a little loud with full fan speed but wont go above 65c also it has no back plate.

Case

Good looking case plenty of room and its good quality.

Monitor

The stand is wobbly and their is come back light bleed but nothing can touch its price

Keyboard

Over all it works but the mouse Led dosent turn off when you turn your computer off and the dpi always resets to the lowest setting

Nice andclean build! Could you comment on in-game performance? I'm planning a similar build with a 1440p 144hz monitor, but I'm trying to figure out if the monitor is too much for the 1070. Thanks!

Thanks, You may have to turn the settings down for intense/ badly optimized games like forza horizon 3 or wolvenstine (but i couldn't get it out of v sync) but most games run at 100-250 fps

With what did you test your OC under load? 55C for a 4.4 OC seems very low for me under load :o

Games mostly and I have hit 60c after playing for 2 hours, and I never changed the voltage which is probably why its so low

Don't you have to Change the voltage if you want to overclock? I thought You had to Change the Clockspeed and Core Voltage ever single time? How high could i go with the Overclock, if i don't Change the Voltage?

im no expert but from what i know it depends its random some people might be able to get a decent overclock with out changing the voltage and some might be barley able to overclock at stock voltage with the same type of cpu. Raising the voltage will make the cpu more stable allowing you to achieve higher clock speeds but it significantly increases the heat generated which is why you generally want to keep the voltage at a minimum to achieve the clock speed you set it as stably.

Thank you for giving me this insight.
