Description

So, these past 4 months I have landed myself a software development apprenticeship, and thought my old setup was due an upgrade... So with months of saving up - here it is! This thing really is an absolute power house - I have yet to run anything that it struggles with. Handles all games on the max settings (which for the price I ended up paying you would expect, but hey, PCMR FTW).

Main games I play are Arma 3, PUBG, DayZ, The Witcher 3, and whatever else my steam library consists of.

I'd appreciate you guys giving me a hand naming it, I really can't think of a name as bad-*** as this machine. The RGB lights around the outer of my desk and inside the pc itself really are worth the extra money :D

Hope you guys can appreciate looking at the pictures just as much as I do :D

PS: Next upgrade is going to be a new monitor, currently gaming on a 1080p tv, it works, but is certainly not giving me the eye candy I require... Soooo yeh, debating a 4k monitor vs a ultra wide curved monitor.

Looks something what like I am going to build... Biggest difference is the chip and the video card. Although I am not a very experienced computer builder I think a cheaper Vid card and an Ryzen 7 is a prime setup, although if you get a 4k monitor, great balanced build!

Ryzen has native overclocking, so I think you should have went with an X370 Motherboard. If you just needed 8 GB's of RAM, I would have gotten a single 1X8 Stick so you can add more as time progresses. Ryzen 7 seems like a much better option here considering you bought a GTX 1080. (Ryzen also loves RAM) A cheaper NVME SSD would be fantastic for your OS. (In the future) I don't know how much that case costs, but it seems you should have focused much more on practicality, rather than aesthetics. Don't get me wrong, this is a great build, but I feel that there is much improvement to be made here. Hope this helps!

FYI, the b350 chipset supports overclocking(x370 adds sli and other such features), and many do not see a gaming benefit to r7 vs r5, due to lack of high core count utilization in many professional programs and games. Finally, yes, 1x8gb would be ideal seeing as that motherboard seems to only support 2 dimms. Have a great day!

Damn I was really misinformed on that B350 stuff. Thanks for that, but seeing that they are interested in software development as well, the upgrade to Ryzen 7 may be worth it. Basically, from what I understood, this computer was going to be used for more than just gaming. But yeah, have a great day. :)

Hows the TP-Link adapter working for you? I am seeing mixed reviews about it

Most of those reviews are from over 2 years ago, and I believe one complaint was that it had compatibility and setup issues with Windows 8. So I don't know how relevant some of those are going to be now.
